SYSTEM OF SINGLE-WALL OVAL CHIMNEY INSERTS

SYSTEM OF SINGLE-WALL OVAL CHIMNEY INSERTS - KOMINUS KO

Characteristics of the KO system

The KO system is a system of oval pipes and fittings for the removal of exhaust fumes from heating devices with an open combustion chamber fired with ecological solid fuels. The KO system is made of heat-resistant steel with the appropriate elemental composition, which guarantees steel resistance to high temperatures. Combustion of ecological solid fuels is accompanied by high temperatures, which heat up the walls of the chimney. The composition of the steel and its technological parameters must guarantee the proper operation of the chimney and protect it against possible damage caused by high temperature. The KO system is produced in two wall thicknesses - 0.8 mm and 1.0 mm

When should the KS system be used and what are the benefits of choosing it?

The KO system is a system of oval pipes and fittings. The first most important argument that determines the choice of the KO system is to have a chimney shaft with a rectangular cross-section. Chimney shafts of this type are usually found in slightly older buildings. The area of the rectangular section is to the greatest extent covered by the oval section. As we know, the appropriate use of the cross-sectional area of the chimney insert to the cross-sectional area of the chimney shaft is important because it affects the maintenance of the appropriate technical parameters of the chimney, and above all its proper functionality due to the behavior of the chimney draft. Another important aspect is having a heating device with an open combustion chamber. Heating devices with an open combustion chamber are devices marked in the European Classification of Heating Devices (EKUG) as type B devices. They are characterized by the fact that they take the air necessary for the combustion process from the environment in which they are located, and the combustion products are discharged outside. building through the chimney.

The main benefit for KO system users is safety, which is ensured by tight pin-muff connections. Currently, it is one of the most important arguments among potential buyers. Another advantage is savings due to the easy and quick method of installation and, of course, the comfort of use, which is influenced by all the material and technological features of the system. The appropriate technological process in combination with a modern production process guarantees long-term functionality of the system with its proper operation.

Things to remember before purchasing the KO system

When we know that we need to use the KO system for our boiler and we decide to buy it, we must remember to collect basic information that will allow us to correctly match the system parameters to our chimney. The most important thing is the exact dimension of the flue pipe cross-section. This information is necessary for the proper selection of the dimensions of the insert cross-section. The surface of the chimney insert should be selected in such a way that it covers the surfaces of the chimney shaft as much as possible. When selecting the diameter of the chimney insert, one should also remember to keep the appropriate dimensional tolerance. It is important because the selected diameter of the insert, apart from the fact that it must cover the surface of the chimney shaft as much as possible, must also allow its easy installation. When we know what diameter of the insert we need, we need to know how tall our chimney will be. The height of the chimney determines the number of necessary elements, such as straight pipes or centering clamps, which ensure that the insert is kept in a vertical position, eliminating the risk of deviations from this position. Once we know the height of the chimney and the diameter of the insert needed, we still need to check the diameter of the outlet pipe from the boiler and the distance between the boiler and the chimney shaft. This information is needed to properly select the connection components. If the diameter of the outlet pipe from the boiler differs from the diameter of the flue pipe, remember to purchase a reduction. With such a resource of data, we can go to the store with the certainty that the system we buy will perfectly match our flue and the boiler or furnace used.

Correct installation guarantees the proper functioning of the chimney system, i.e. practical tips on how to do it for the chimney to function for years
The assembly of the chimney system is one of the main factors responsible for the proper functioning of the entire installation. For this reason, it should be performed by specialized assembly teams. Before starting the installation, the existing flue must be thoroughly cleaned of the remains of combustion products and any other unnecessary elements, such as the remains of damaged bricks, etc. You should also prepare any openings in the walls that are necessary to lead the connections from the heating device to the appropriate duct. chimney. Only after these steps are completed, you can proceed to the proper installation of the chimney system. It is important that the individual elements are properly connected, as any negligence in this matter is unacceptable for the safety of users. It should be remembered that the chimney should be installed in a vertical position.
